IMR is located in one of the major cities of Khandesh region - Jalgaon. It is a commercially important district in this region. It is a district administrative center, a market town, and an important road and rail junction. Cotton, oil, and textiles are the chief products of the region.

By Air:
You can take flight to Aurangabad, which is approx. 150 kms. away from Jalgoan & from there you can take a bus or cab.

By Railway:
Jalgaon is a junction of Central Railways. You can travel form any station to Jalgaon station by train. From Jalgaon station, city bus or autorikshaw can bring you to the IMR campus.

By Bus:
Jalgoan city is well connected to neighbouring cities of Maharashtra by the National Highway Number 6(NH-6) and Jalgaon-Aurangabad highway. You can take a bus to Jalgaon city and from Bus Stand you can take a city bus or auto rikshaw to the IMR campus.
